Jardin Botanico

Botanical garden with history

The Jardín de Aclimatación de La Orotava was created at the end of the 18th century to accustom exotic plants to the mild climate of the Canary Islands. Today it is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Spain.

Plants from several continents

The collection includes species from America, Africa, Asia and Oceania. Palm trees, ferns, bromeliads, orchids and numerous rare trees accompany the paths through the garden.

Rare trees and botanical rarities

The most famous areas include mighty ficus trees with sprawling aerial roots as well as historical plants that have been part of the collection for many decades.
