The drag artist

Crystal Starr was the drag character of British entertainer David Ormrod. Since 1994, his performances on Teneriffa have included sharp-tongued comedy, singing and spontaneous audience dialogue.

Wigan Pier & Crystal's Show Bar

David Ormrod joined Starco in 1994 as resident entertainer at Wigan Pier, where the character Crystal Starr was created. He later opened his own show bar in The Patch, Crystal's Show Bar.

Over 30 years on Teneriffa

David Ormrod lived and worked on Teneriffa for more than 30 years. In 2008, he received an award for his contribution to the entertainment scene and was posthumously inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2025.
