The house museum
Casa de los Balcones is a publicly accessible historic mansion in La Orotava. As a house museum, it shows Canarian architecture as well as earlier living and everyday culture.
Courtyard & wooden balconies
A traditional Canarian courtyard with large wooden galleries is one of the characteristic areas of the house. Elaborately crafted wooden balconies can also be seen on the facade.
Crafts & Canarian traditions
The exhibition is also dedicated to traditional crafts and customs of the Canary Islands. The Calado embroidery typical of La Orotava plays a special role.
