Loro Parque

The zoo

Loro Parque is an animal park in Puerto de la Cruz that has been awarded several times as the world's best zoo. More than 400 species of animals, an extraordinary variety of plants and the animal and themed areas designed down to the last detail give the entire park its special character.

Parrots, Planet Penguin & Plant world

The world's largest parrot collection includes more than 4,000 parrots from around 350 species and subspecies. With around 250 penguins, Planet Penguin is one of the largest indoor penguin enclosures in the world and recreates an Antarctic landscape with ice and real snow. Thousands of palm trees and numerous other tropical and subtropical plants are part of the elaborate landscaping and give the Loro Parque its distinctive appearance.

Coral Kingdom & species protection

With Coral Kingdom, Loro Parque has the largest coral reef outside the oceans. More than 8,000 corals and almost 10,000 fish form their own underwater world in over 260,000 liters of water. The Loro Parque Fundación also supports international research and species conservation projects for endangered animals and their natural habitats.
