Policia Local

The Policía Local of La Orotava is the community's municipal police force and is therefore responsible for many everyday situations on site. Traffic problems, illegal parking, municipal regulations and public order are typical.

Traffic, order & emergencies

The Policía Local regulates traffic within the towns, records traffic accidents and monitors parking and stopping bans. In major emergencies, it is involved in municipal coordination with the fire department, civil defense and other emergency services via CECOPAL.

Local, Nacional & Guardia Civil

The Policía Nacional is responsible for, among other things, identity cards, passports and many foreign matters. The Guardia Civil is particularly recognizable for its tasks on highways, at borders and coasts as well as in ports and airports. The Policía Local, on the other hand, is the right police for local traffic, municipal rules and many order problems within the community.
